Wyatt Johnson, 22, Killed in Motorcycle and Semi-Truck Collision in Kansas

Montgomery County, KS (June 16, 2025) — A tragic two-vehicle crash on County Road 4300 claimed the life of 22-year-old Wyatt Johnson of Coffeyville Monday afternoon, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Incident Details: The collision occurred around 3:57 p.m. as a semi-truck was traveling southbound on CR 4300 and attempted to turn left into a driveway. At the same time, Johnson was riding a 1998 motorcycle northbound on the same road. His motorcycle struck the left front side of the semi during the turn. Johnson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The semi-truck driver was uninjured.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators continue to look into the crash and will examine whether the semi-truck driver executed the left turn safely and legally. Skid marks, vehicle positions, and eyewitness accounts will be critical to reconstructing what happened.

Depending on the outcome of the investigation, Johnson’s surviving family members may pursue a wrongful death claim to compensate them for funeral costs, pain and suffering, and loss of companionship.

My sympathies go out to the family and friends of Wyatt Johnson during this time.
