Woodstock, IL (October 6, 2025) – A woman suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon after an SUV and a semi-truck collided at Route 47 and Charles Road in unincorporated Woodstock, according to officials.
Accident Details: Emergency crews responded around 1:06 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a mid-size SUV. Two adults were inside the SUV. The woman was pinned in the vehicle and required extrication by firefighters before a medical helicopter transported her to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries. The male SUV occupant was evaluated at the scene and not transported. The semi-truck driver was uninjured. Authorities closed the roadway north of the intersection while first responders worked the scene and cleared debris.
Investigation: The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the collision. Investigators are reviewing vehicle positions, damage patterns, and witness statements to assess factors such as right-of-way, speed, and visibility at the rural intersection. No citations or charges have been announced.
Legal Considerations: Crashes involving semi-trucks often require a detailed review of driver conduct, roadway conditions, and potential mechanical issues. Injured victims may pursue claims for medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering if negligence is established. Preservation of evidence—photos, vehicle data, and witness accounts—can be critical in determining liability.
I hope the woman injured in this Woodstock truck accident makes a full and swift recovery.
