Two Drivers Hospitalized After Semi-Truck Crash at Route 14 and Hartland Road Near Woodstock

Woodstock, IL (October 6, 2025) – Two drivers were hospitalized Monday afternoon following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck at Route 14 and Hartland Road near Woodstock, officials said.

Accident Details: First responders arrived to find a small sedan heavily damaged in the roadway and a semi-truck off the road near the intersection. Both drivers, who were the only occupants of their vehicles, were transported to area hospitals with injuries reported as minor to moderate and non-life-threatening. Traffic in the immediate area was impacted during the emergency response and vehicle recovery.

Investigation: The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Authorities are evaluating scene evidence—including vehicle positions and debris—as well as any available witness accounts to determine contributing factors such as failure to yield, speed, or limited sightlines. Officials have not released information regarding citations.

Legal Considerations: When passenger vehicles and commercial trucks collide, liability assessments typically focus on right-of-way, safe turning and stopping distances, and compliance with traffic laws. Injured motorists may seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and related damages if negligence is proven. Prompt documentation of injuries and the crash scene can support any future claim.

I wish both drivers a full and speedy recovery following this Woodstock truck accident.
