FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (July 18, 2025) – A woman was killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision involving a tanker truck and a passenger car on State Highway 26 near Neitman Road, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Accident Details: The crash occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. northeast of Waupun. Authorities say the woman, who was driving the passenger car, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. She was the only occupant of the car. An off-duty nurse stopped at the scene and attempted CPR, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tanker truck driver suffered a minor head laceration and was treated at the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Wisconsin State Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash. The cause of the collision has not yet been released. Authorities had been conducting aerial patrols in the area earlier in the week to monitor for speeding and aggressive driving.
Head-on collisions involving large commercial vehicles often lead to detailed investigations focusing on vehicle position, speed, road conditions, and driver behavior. In fatal trucking crashes, surviving family members may have the right to pursue wrongful death claims for funeral costs, loss of support, and other damages.
We extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of the woman who lost her life in this tragic crash.
