Milwaukee, WI (August 6, 2025) — A late-afternoon crash involving a semi truck and two SUVs left a woman and a 9-year-old girl injured Wednesday on I-43 near the Marquette Interchange, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
Incident Details: The collision occurred just before 5:45 p.m. when one of the SUVs flipped twice after the impact. The young passenger was ejected from the rolling vehicle but returned to check on the driver before first responders arrived. Both victims were transported to a hospital and were reported to be in stable condition later that evening. No one in the semi or the second SUV was hurt, and neither vehicle sustained significant damage. The freeway was partially closed while crews cleared the scene and reopened later that night.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the crash. Investigators are expected to examine several factors, including lane positioning, speed, driver attentiveness, and any potential traffic violations that may have occurred before the rollover. Data from the semi’s black box, eyewitness accounts, and accident reconstruction reports will likely be crucial in establishing liability.
Depending on the investigation’s findings, the injured woman and child may pursue personal injury claims for medical costs, pain and suffering, and other damages.
I wish both victims a quick and complete recovery.
