Leo Peralta, 21, Severely Injured in Road Rage SUV Accident in Vista

Vista, CA (August 24, 2025) – A 21-year-old man, Leo Peralta, was struck and seriously injured Sunday during a road rage incident in Vista while attempting to call 911.

Accident Details: According to investigators, Peralta was outside his friend’s home on Via Felicidad when he was hit by a Toyota Sequoia driven by Lindsey Bigbey. Authorities say Bigbey was aggressively chasing a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Nathan Robson, through a residential neighborhood.

Peralta ran outside after hearing screams and cars colliding. While recording on his phone and dialing 911, he turned toward the street and was struck by the SUV. Several doorbell and cellphone cameras captured the hit-and-run. Peralta sustained severe injuries and continues to recover.

Investigation: The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported that Bigbey and Robson fled the scene together after the crash. Both were later arrested and face multiple felony charges, including hit-and-run and assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the reckless chase and the pedestrian injury.

I extend my deepest sympathy to Leo Peralta and his family and wish him strength during his recovery.
