82-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Car Collision in Ventura

Ventura, CA (August 14, 2025) — An 82-year-old Ventura man died Thursday morning following a two-car crash at a city intersection, according to the Ventura Police Department.

Incident Details: Police say the collision happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Wells and Darling roads. Responding officers found both drivers injured. The 82-year-old man suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he later died. The other driver sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities report that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after next-of-kin have been notified. The Ventura Police Department continues to investigate and encourages anyone with information to contact them. In fatal car crashes, surviving family members may have the option to pursue wrongful death claims for funeral costs, lost support, and other damages.

I extend my condolences to the family and friends of the victim and wish the injured driver a full recovery.
