Starke County, IN (August 8, 2025) – Two women were killed Friday in a collision involving a semi truck on U.S. 30 in Starke County.
Incident Details: According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when a semi truck collided with a passenger vehicle on U.S. 30. The driver, identified as Gigia Gogotchuri of New Jersey, and her passenger, 42-year-old Giorgia Burduli of New York, both died from their injuries. No details have been released regarding the condition of the semi truck driver.
Investigation: The Starke County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal crash. Officials have not confirmed contributing factors such as speed, weather, or mechanical issues.
