Two Injured in Collision on State Route 247 in San Bernardino County

San Bernardino County, CA (September 29, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized in a two-vehicle collision on State Route 247 and Rabbit Springs Road.

Accident Details: The crash was reported at 1:10 p.m. on Monday. Officials stated that the collision involved a white Dodge pickup truck and a Ford F-150. Emergency responders with the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived to find significant wreckage, including one vehicle overturned on its side with heavy damage.

The Ford ended up on its side after the impact. A male passenger in his 40s, who had been riding in the Ford, was able to exit the vehicle before the firefighters arrived at the scene. The driver, however, remained pinned inside until fire crews extricated him.

Given the severity of the driver’s injuries, an air ambulance was requested and landed at nearby Pioneer Park to transport.

Investigation: The California Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Reconstructing the collision will involve documenting the positions of the vehicles, studying debris patterns, and measuring skid marks to determine speed and braking prior to impact.

Investigators will also interview the drivers, passengers, and witnesses to understand how the two trucks collided. They may review whether either driver attempted to yield at the intersection, whether one vehicle drifted into the other’s path, or whether visibility or roadway conditions played a role.

The Ford’s severe damage and rollover will be carefully analyzed to determine the direction and force of impact. Mechanical inspections of both trucks could also be conducted to rule out brake failure or steering issues. Additionally, CHP may consult any available surveillance or traffic camera footage in the area to help clarify the sequence of events.

Legal Considerations: Collisions at intersections often raise questions about right-of-way and driver attentiveness. If evidence establishes that one driver failed to yield, ran a stop sign, or otherwise operated a vehicle negligently, that driver may be held legally responsible for the injuries caused.

The victims in this crash may have grounds to pursue personal injury claims, depending on the outcome of the investigation. These claims can seek compensation for medical bills, air ambulance costs, lost income during recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term care needs in the case of disabling injuries. Victims may also recover damages for pain and suffering, emotional distress, and diminished quality of life.

My thoughts are with the individuals injured in this collision, and I hope for their full and swift recovery.
