Prince George County, VA (June 14, 2025) — Two people were seriously injured early Friday morning when a tractor-trailer crashed into two stopped vehicles along Interstate 95 near the Carson rest area, according to Virginia State Police.
Incident Details: The collision occurred just after 4:00 a.m. on northbound I-95. According to authorities, one car was parked on the highway’s right shoulder, and a second vehicle was stopped next to it in the right travel lane when an oncoming semi-truck struck both.
The drivers of the two passenger vehicles, both en route to New York after purchasing a vehicle at an auto auction in North Carolina, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to Bon Secours Southside Medical Center in Petersburg for treatment. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The crash remains under investigation, and Virginia State Police have indicated that charges are pending. Investigators will evaluate whether the truck driver had adequate time to see and respond to the obstruction or if driver visibility or fatigue also played a role.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the injured parties could pursue personal injury claims to recover compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and lost income.
I wish both injured individuals a full recovery.
