Thebes, IL (August 6, 2025) — Illinois State Police are investigating a crash Wednesday morning involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian along Illinois Route 3 near Denton Road.
Incident Details: Authorities report that the collision occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. when a truck-tractor semi-trailer struck a construction trailer and a worker who was contracted by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Two individuals were transported to a regional hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The investigation is ongoing, and multiple factors are being reviewed, including the presence of proper warning signs and lane closures, the truck driver’s compliance with construction zone speed limits, and potential driver distraction or fatigue.
