Two Drivers Killed in High-Speed Head-On Crash in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA (May 7, 2025) – A violent head-on collision claimed the lives of two drivers early Wednesday morning in Long Beach.

Accident Details: The crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of 7th Street and Terraine Avenue. According to the Long Beach Police Department, a Honda Civic traveling westbound at high speed lost control and veered into oncoming traffic. The Honda Civic crashed head-on into an eastbound Honda Accord. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

Police have identified the driver of the Honda Accord as 37-year-old Salvador Medina of Long Beach. The name of the driver of the Honda Civic has not yet been released.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Early reports suggest the Honda Civic driver was speeding and lost control before crossing into the opposite lane. If confirmed, speed and loss of vehicle control would be critical factors in the investigation. Other cruicial evidence will likely include surveillance or traffic camera footage, accident scene damage, and eyewitness accounts.

Depending on the results of the investigation, the family of Medina may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit. A wrongful death claim can help the surviving family pursue compensation for funeral and burial expenses, loss of companionship and support, and loss of financial contributions.

I extend my condolences to everyone affected by this accident.
