Kiowa County, Kansas (May 7, 2025) – A crash involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck claimed the lives of three people Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 54 near the junction with U.S. 400, just east of Mullinville.
Accident Details: The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reported that the crash occurred at approximately 3:56 p.m. near mile marker 98. As of now, the identities of the deceased have not been released, pending family notification. The KHP has not yet provided information on the direction of travel of the vehicles involved or the specific cause of the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators will conduct a thorough accident reconstruction, examining tire and skid marks, vehicle positioning, surveillance or dashcam footage, black box data from the semi-truck, and witness statements, if available.
