Three Injured in Four-Vehicle Crash Involving Semis on I-39 in Illinois

McLean County, IL (June 5, 2025) — Three people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a four-vehicle collision on Interstate 39 involving two semi-trucks, a passenger car, and a pickup truck, according to the Illinois State Police.

Incident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 12:49 p.m. near mile marker 8 on the southbound side of I-39, close to E 2500 County Road North as the interstate heads toward Bloomington and Normal. The collision initially involved two vehicles, but later updates confirmed that four were ultimately involved: two semis, one car, and one pickup truck.

Three individuals were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries. Fortunately, all lanes of I-39 were reopened within two hours, though the crash temporarily closed all southbound lanes and caused significant traffic delays.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Investigators from the Illinois State Police continue to look into the crash and will likely examine driver actions, lane positions, speed, and brake application timing

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the injured victims may be entitled to pursue personal injury claims. These may include compensation for hospital bills, ongoing treatment, and pain and suffering.

I wish all those injured a full and speedy recovery.
