Three Injured in Crash Involving Semi-Truck at Highway 36 and 156th Street in Bennington

BENNINGTON, NE (July 7, 2025) – A crash involving two cars and a semi-truck sent three people to the hospital Monday afternoon in Bennington, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Accident Details: The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 36 and 156th Street. Deputies say the collision involved a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles. Medics transported the driver and passenger of the first car struck, along with the semi-truck driver, to the hospital.

Officials confirmed that one of the victims suffered critical injuries. The conditions of the other two individuals have not been released.

Following the crash, the intersection was closed while emergency crews responded and investigators worked the scene. The roadway has since reopened.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. In accidents involving large trucks and multiple vehicles, authorities typically review right-of-way issues, driver attentiveness, speed, and whether commercial safety regulations were followed. Semi-truck drivers must exercise special caution at intersections due to their longer stopping distances and wider turning requirements.

Victims of crashes involving commercial vehicles may have legal options to pursue compensation for medical care, rehabilitation, and other damages if negligence is identified.

We send our thoughts to those injured and hope for a full recovery.
