Semi-Truck Crash Shuts Down Major Roads in Savannah

Savannah, GA (September 24, 2025) – A collision between two semi-trucks shut down two major Savannah roads for several hours Wednesday morning. The crash forced closures of Jimmy Deloach Parkway and Crossroads Parkway from approximately 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Accident Details: Savannah Police confirmed that the crash left one adult male with non-life-threatening injuries. EMS transported the injured man to a local hospital for treatment. Both semi-trucks sustained visible damage, and utility poles and traffic light wiring were also struck during the crash, adding to the disruption in the area.

Road Closures and Response: The Savannah Fire Department and police units worked for hours to clear debris and repair damaged infrastructure. Drivers faced long delays throughout the morning as traffic was diverted around the area. Roads were reopened early in the afternoon once cleanup and utility crews completed emergency repairs.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Police are investigating the cause of the crash, including whether driver error, mechanical failure, or other factors contributed. Semi-truck collisions often raise questions of liability that may extend to the drivers, trucking companies, or even maintenance contractors. Injured victims may seek compensation for medical treatment and related damages depending on the results of the investigation.

The Savannah community has voiced concern about truck traffic through major commercial routes, with residents calling for heightened safety enforcement in high-volume corridors like Jimmy Deloach Parkway.

I wish the injured man a full recovery following this Savannah truck accident.
