San Diego, California (September 11, 2025) — A 43-year-old man was injured Thursday morning in a hit-and-run crash while riding his motorcycle in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood, according to police.
Incident Details: The crash happened around 8:17 a.m. in the 1400 block of South 43rd Street. Authorities said the rider of a purple Harley Davidson motorcycle moved from the northbound number two lane to the number one lane when a dark-colored sedan overtook him, swerved right, and collided with the motorcycle. The impact knocked the rider to the ground, and the suspect vehicle continued northbound without stopping. The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with a fractured right clavicle and abrasions to his right elbow.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident and urges anyone with information to contact the department or Crime Stoppers. Hit-and-run crashes involving motorcycles often lead to criminal charges, including felony hit-and-run and reckless driving. The injured motorcyclist may also pursue a personal injury claim once the driver is identified, seeking compensation for medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering.
I wish the injured motorcyclist a full recovery following this San Diego crash.
