Rayanna Lynne Diaz, 28, Killed in Rosemont Intersection Collision

Sacramento, CA (June 15, 2025) — A woman who died following a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening in the Rosemont area of Sacramento has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as 28-year-old Rayanna Lynne Diaz.

Incident Details: The fatal crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of South Watt Avenue and Kiefer Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, Diaz was driving an Infiniti sedan eastbound on Kiefer Boulevard when her vehicle collided with a southbound Lexus sedan. One of the vehicles reportedly ran a red light, but as of Monday, CHP had not determined which driver was at fault.

Diaz was transported to the hospital with significant injuries and later pronounced dead. Two passengers in the Infiniti, an adult male and a juvenile, also suffered injuries. The man sustained moderate injuries, while the child’s injuries were described as minor. The Lexus driver was not injured.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The ongoing CHP investigation will focus on traffic signal data, witness statements, and available surveillance footage to determine which vehicle entered the intersection unlawfully. Authorities have not yet ruled out impairment, but have stated there is no immediate indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.

Pending the investigation’s findings, Diaz’s surviving family members and the injured passengers may have grounds for a wrongful death or personal injury claim. These claims may help offset funeral costs, medical bills, and other losses from the crash.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the loved ones of Rayanna Lynne Diaz during this difficult time.
