TULARE COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2025) – A head-on collision between two minivans outside of Exeter on Sunday afternoon left one passenger dead and another person injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Accident Details: The crash occurred just before 3:00 p.m. near Penlan Avenue and Spruce Road. CHP reports that a silver Honda Odyssey was traveling northbound on Spruce Road when the driver drifted into the oncoming lane, colliding head-on with a gold Chrysler Pacifica.
Following the crash, the Honda remained in the roadway, while the Chrysler came to a stop in a nearby orange orchard. The driver of the Honda suffered moderate injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders.
The right front passenger of the Chrysler Pacifica was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP is investigating the crash. While drugs or alcohol are not suspected, investigators are looking into whether distracted driving, including possible cellphone use, contributed to the collision.
Head-on crashes often result in severe or fatal injuries, particularly for passengers. When distraction is involved, victims and their families may have legal options to pursue claims for wrongful death, medical costs, and related damages.
We extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of the passenger who lost their life in this tragic crash and send our best wishes for recovery to those injured.
