WESTCHESTER, CA (July 12, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision on the 405 Freeway early Saturday morning left one man injured and another under arrest, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Accident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 3:31 a.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway, just south of Jefferson Boulevard. Authorities say a black Toyota Prius, a gray Lexus, and a Ford Explorer were involved in the collision.
Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the scene and worked to free the driver of the Ford Explorer, who was trapped in the vehicle following the crash. That driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.
According to CHP reports, one of the sedan drivers rear-ended the Explorer and was arrested at the scene. Officials have not yet released the suspect’s name or the specific charges.
A SigAlert was issued, and all southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway were closed up to the westbound Marina (90) Freeway for about 30 minutes while emergency crews cleared the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. When a rear-end collision leads to injuries, authorities typically review factors such as driver speed, distraction, impairment, and safe following distance.
Victims of freeway collisions may face serious medical expenses, lost income, and other damages. Legal claims may be available if negligence or reckless driving contributed to the crash.
We extend our well wishes to the injured driver and hope for a full recovery.
