Occidental, CA (April 27, 2025) – A head-on collision near Occidental in Sonoma County left one person dead and two others injured Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Incident Details: The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Bodega Highway, just east of Sullivan Road. A westbound 2002 Honda Civic, driven by a 42-year-old man from Santa Rosa, veered into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2008 Honda CRV. The driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants of the CRV suffered moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP officers are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash. They have not yet determined whether alcohol, drugs, or distracted driving played a role. Witnesses are urged to contact authorities if they have additional information regarding the incident.
