Fresno, CA (March 23, 2025) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified 34-year-old Timothy Wells as the motorcyclist who died following a collision Sunday afternoon.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Cornell Avenue. According to investigators, Wells was riding northbound on Cedar Avenue when a southbound Dodge attempted a left turn into a driveway, crossing the motorcycle’s path. Wells collided with the passenger side of the Dodge. Both he and the driver of the Dodge were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Wells later died at the hospital. A third vehicle was also involved, but no injuries were reported from that car.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: This type of crash raises questions about proper yielding and right-of-way. Generally, drivers making left turns are required to yield to oncoming traffic. If the Dodge driver misjudged the speed of the motorcycle or was distracted at the time of the turn, liability could come into play. Investigators will likely examine whether any driver was distracted, speeding, or failed to signal properly.
Authorities may also review nearby surveillance footage and witness statements to help determine the exact sequence of events. Evidence such as brake marks, damage patterns, and vehicle positioning will be key in reconstructing the incident.
If negligence is established, Wells’s family may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim.
My thoughts are with all those affected by this accident.
