San Jacinto, CA (July 18, 2024) – A tragic collision at the intersection of East Seventh and Hewitt streets in San Jacinto claimed the life of 25-year-old motorcyclist Jose Cornejo Casas from Perris.
Accident Details: Casas’ motorcycle collided with a sedan around 7:45 a.m. Due to the force of the impact, Casas was ejected onto the roadway, suffering catastrophic injuries. Casas was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several critical questions need to be addressed to understand the full circumstances surrounding this tragic accident. Key aspects to investigate include understanding Casas’s and the sedan driver’s behavior. Were they impaired or distracted? Were they speeding? Investigators should also inspect the condition of the sedan and motorcycle. Was there a defect? Were there road defects or improper signage?
By thoroughly investigating these elements, it is possible to create a clearer picture of what led to this tragic collision and identify any liable parties. Depending on the results, Casas’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim and recover compensation such as loss of financial support and funeral and burial expenses.
My sincerest condolences are with the family and friends of Jose Cornejo Casas during this difficult time.
