Yuba County, CA (September 23, 2024) – On Monday night, a tragic motorcycle accident claimed the lives of Anthony Montana, 62, and Traci Conley, 63, near Marysville.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 11:28 p.m. near the 8600 block of Highway 70, near Ellis Road. A 21-year-old driver from Marysville in a Toyota Corolla turned from a driveway onto the highway into the path of a motorcycle. Montana and Conley were on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Both were ejected from the motorcycle.
Despite efforts from emergency personnel, both Montana and Conley were pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver and a 19-year-old female passenger were unharmed in the crash, and authorities confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role. However, the speed at which Montana was traveling remains under investigation.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. One key element is whether the 21-year-old driver exercised proper caution when turning onto the highway. Drivers are responsible for yielding to oncoming traffic.
