City Field Deputy Injured in Hit-and-Run in Miracle Mile

Los Angeles, CA (October 7, 2025) – A Los Angeles City Council field deputy was injured Tuesday morning after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Miracle Mile area, according to NBC Los Angeles.

Accident Details: Police said the crash happened near Fairfax Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard when the victim, an aide to Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky, was hit while walking outside the council district office. Emergency crews transported the staffer to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver fled before police arrived. The intersection was temporarily closed as investigators documented evidence and reviewed security footage from nearby businesses.

Investigation: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division is investigating the hit-and-run. Detectives are examining surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the suspect and vehicle. Officials did not release the staffer’s name, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Legal Considerations: Hit-and-run collisions involving pedestrians can lead to felony charges. Injured victims may be entitled to compensation for hospital bills, lost wages, and other damages if the responsible driver is located. Pedestrian victims are encouraged to preserve all available medical and photographic evidence to strengthen any future legal claim.

This was a distressing incident for city staff and the local community. I wish the injured deputy a full and quick recovery.
