Five Injured in Ambulance and Car Crash at Ridge Road and Wildy Road in Minooka

Minooka, IL (May 24, 2025) – A crash involving a municipal ambulance and a passenger vehicle injured multiple people Friday afternoon at the intersection of Ridge Road and Wildy Road, according to Minooka Police and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Accident Details: The collision occurred around 3:00 p.m. while the ambulance was actively transporting a patient. Authorities say five people were injured—four inside the ambulance, including the patient, and one person from the other vehicle. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Due to the ambulance’s municipal status, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. Ridge Road was closed between Fair Lane and North Bell Road for several hours but has since reopened.

Legal Considerations: Crashes involving emergency vehicles often raise questions about right-of-way, emergency protocols, and driving conduct under Illinois law. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, those injured may be able to pursue injury claims if driver negligence or failure to yield is found to have contributed to the crash.

Ongoing Investigation: The crash remains under investigation by the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. Officials have not yet released the names of those involved or announced any citations.

I hope each of the injured individuals recovers quickly and fully.
