Marietta, Georgia (September 8, 2025) — Three people were injured early Monday morning in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 75 in Marietta that involved a tractor-trailer, according to police.
Incident Details: The crash happened just after 3 a.m. near the interchange with the Canton Connector. Investigators said a car sideswiped a tractor-trailer, triggering a multi-vehicle collision. The tractor-trailer then struck a Chevrolet Equinox, causing it to overturn. All three adults in the Equinox were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. The tractor-trailer driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The car that initially struck the truck fled the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Police are reviewing video footage to identify the driver of the car believed to have caused the crash. Hit-and-run drivers who initiate chain-reaction collisions may face criminal charges and civil liability. Injured victims in the Equinox may pursue personal injury claims for medical expenses, lost wages, and damages for pain and suffering. Liability may also extend to the tractor-trailer driver or company if investigators find contributing negligence.
I wish the three people injured in this Marietta truck crash a full recovery.
