Victorville, CA (April 20, 2025) – Authorities are searching for the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian early Saturday morning on Bear Valley Road, according to the Victorville Police Department.
Accident Details: The crash occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive. Deputies say an adult male was crossing the street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The driver fled the scene without stopping to help or report the incident.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending next-of-kin notification.
Legal Considerations: Hit-and-run incidents involving fatalities are felony offenses in California. Investigators will be examining nearby surveillance footage, gathering witness statements, and reviewing vehicle debris to identify the suspect. Once the driver is located, they could face charges such as vehicular manslaughter and fleeing the scene of an accident.
