Man Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash on Summit Valley Road in Hesperia

Hesperia, CA (June 18, 2025) — A man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision that shut down both directions of Summit Valley Road near Foley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 1:44 p.m. and involved four vehicles: a black Honda Accord, a blue Toyota Tacoma, a white GMC work truck, and a FedEx Ground delivery vehicle. San Bernardino County Fire crews arrived to find the Honda severely damaged, the Tacoma with a significant front-end impact, the GMC truck off the roadway in the desert, and the FedEx truck overturned in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Honda, a male adult, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. All other drivers, who were the sole occupants of their vehicles, sustained only minor injuries and did not require transport to the hospital.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with investigators looking at whether chain reaction liability, speed, road conditions, or driver conduct contributed to the collision. Evidence such as dashcam footage, witness statements, and physical damage patterns will play a key role in assessing civil liability.

The family of the deceased Honda driver may have grounds for a wrongful death claim, depending on the outcome of the CHP investigation. The injured parties may also file personal injury claims. These lawsuits compensate family members and injured people for losing their loved one, funeral costs, medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.

My condolences go out to the deceased man’s family and friends. I also wish the injured parties a speedy and complete recovery.
