Man Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 29

Stanley, WI (April 16, 2025) – A man was hospitalized after being injured in a crash involving a semi-truck on Highway 29 Tuesday morning, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.

Incident Details: Authorities say the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near 345th Street when a westbound Ford pickup truck traveling in the left lane attempted to merge into the right lane but struck a semi-truck. The collision caused the pickup to spin and roll multiple times before coming to rest in the median. The driver of the Ford truck sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The semi-truck driver was not hurt.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash and whether any citations will be issued. Preliminary findings indicate that the pickup driver failed to properly yield while changing lanes. Authorities are also evaluating whether speed or distraction contributed to the incident. No charges have been filed at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured driver as he recovers.
