Justin Mullikin Killed in Truck Crash at SR-72 and Plymouth Road in Greene County

Silvercreek Township, OH (October 13, 2025) – Thirty-six-year-old Justin Mullikin was killed Monday afternoon in a collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup on a busy state route in Greene County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Accident Details: Troopers were called around 2:45 p.m. to the intersection of State Route 72 and Plymouth Road. An early investigation found a semi-trailer was westbound on Plymouth Road and proceeded through the intersection, where it was struck near the rear axle by a southbound vehicle on SR-72. The semi failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign, investigators said. Mullikin, identified as the pickup driver, died from his injuries. The semi driver, a 45-year-old Jamestown man, refused treatment at the scene. The truck was loaded with grain, a portion of which spilled across the roadway, prompting an extended closure while crews contained debris and documented evidence.

Investigation: The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Xenia Post is reconstructing the collision to confirm approach speeds, signal/stop control compliance, and the exact point of impact. Investigators are reviewing roadway markings, vehicle damage, and potential third-party video to finalize findings. Additional information will be released after all notifications and reports are complete.

Legal Considerations: Fatal crashes involving semi-trucks often require detailed analysis of right-of-way adherence, driver decision-making, and commercial-vehicle compliance. Families of victims may pursue wrongful death claims to recover funeral expenses, loss of support, and other damages where negligence is established. Documentation such as the crash report, photographs, and witness statements is essential to clarifying liability.

This was a heartbreaking loss for Mr. Mullikin’s family and the Greene County community. I extend my deepest condolences to his loved ones.
