El Dorado Hills, CA (May 3, 2025) — An 84-year-old woman was killed and three others, including two children, were injured in a head-on collision Saturday morning on Green Valley Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The driver responsible has been arrested.
Incident Details: The crash occurred at 7:54 a.m. on Green Valley Road, east of Silva Valley Parkway. Authorities say a 2023 Dodge Charger driven by 34-year-old Cheyenne Wright was traveling eastbound when it drifted off the south edge of the road and struck a raised asphalt curb. The Charger then reentered the roadway, crossed over the double yellow lines, and collided head-on with a 2023 Toyota Camry traveling westbound.
The driver of the Camry, identified by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office as Joan Allison, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wright and her two passengers, a 7-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were all transported to the hospital. Wright suffered major injuries, while the children sustained minor injuries. Wright was arrested at the hospital in connection with the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP is continuing to investigate the collision and has not yet ruled out alcohol or drugs as contributing factors. Officers will likely investigate whether driver distraction, fatigue, or excessive speed caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway and into oncoming traffic.
Depending on the results of the CHP’s investigation, Allison’s family may be eligible for compensation for funeral expenses, emotional suffering, and loss of companionship by filing a wrongful death lawsuit. Additionally, the parents or guardians of injured children may have the option to file personal injury claims to cover the children’s medical care and emotional distress.
I extend my condolences to the family and loved ones of Joan Allison and hope for a full recovery for the injured children.
