Llano, CA (April 7, 2025) — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning near the Pearblossom Highway in Llano.
Incident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on April 6 near 165th Street East and Highway 138. A sedan and an SUV overturned during the incident.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics responded and transported one individual to a nearby hospital. The condition of that person has not yet been released. Tragically, 26-year-old Jerry Tate was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The CHP is actively investigating the cause of the crash. Key issues likely under review include whether speed, distraction, or impairment was contributing factors, roadway and weather conditions at the time of the collision, and whether either vehicle attempted evasive maneuvers before the crash.
Depending on the investigation’s outcome, Tate’s family may file a wrongful death claim to cover funeral expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
