Navy Veteran Jason Frost Killed While Riding Motorcycle in Perris

Perris, CA (May 2, 2024) — A tragic accident on State Route 74 last week claimed the life of a Lake Elsinore motorcyclist and Navy veteran, Jason Frost. The 44-year-old was traveling home from his job with UPS when the accident occurred.

Incident Overview: The crash occurred at approximately 9:17 p.m. on May 2nd. Frost was riding his Honda CBF westbound on SR-74 near Betty Road in unincorporated Perris when a Toyota Highlander, driven by a 52-year-old woman from Hesperia, pulled in front of him from Betty Road. Despite stopping at the T intersection’s stop sign, the driver reportedly did not see Frost and entered the highway in front of him, leading to the collision. Frost, who was wearing a helmet, was unable to stop in time and collided with the SUV, resulting in his ejection and death at the scene. The occupants of the SUV were unharmed.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig noted that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash. While no arrests have been made, charges may be pending as the investigation continues. Based on the information available so far, it seems that the other driver may have negligently cut off Frost when entering the highway. If so, the Frost’s family may want to consider pursuing a wrongful death claim to help pay for funeral expenses, emotional distress, and other damages.

My deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Jason Frost. The family has setup a GoFundMe to help with any unexpected funds and to donate to a veteran’s charity in Jason’s name. Please provide whatever you can.
