Bakersfield, CA (July 5, 2025) – A fatal crash shut down Highway 58 in both directions near Greeley Road Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Accident Details: The collision occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, east of Bakersfield. CHP reports that the crash involved at least two vehicles and resulted in at least one confirmed fatality at the scene. The exact number of people injured has not yet been released.
Traffic on both eastbound and westbound Highway 58 was closed for several hours while officials investigated and cleared the wreckage.
