Four Family Members Dead, Three Children Injured in Horrific Manteca Crash

San Joaquin County, CA (April 13, 2024) – A devastating crash on State Route 120 near Manteca resulted in four fatalities, including an infant and a child, and left three other children with major injuries. The victims have been identified as David Negrete Guerrero (4 months), Jorge Negrete Guerrero (12 years), Liliana Guerrero Mendoza (40 years), and Arriaga Bonifacio Negrete (44 years), all residents of Livermore belonging to the same family.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 10:07 p.m. when a Toyota minivan, carrying seven passengers including five children, veered off the wet road. The vehicle first collided with the center median, then traversed the grassy median separating the highway’s directions, became airborne, and struck the Van Ryn Avenue overpass. It overturned and caught fire upon impact. Good Samaritans at the scene assisted in flipping the minivan back onto its wheels to rescue the occupants. Their prompt action helped save three children who were later hospitalized with serious injuries.

Investigation and Analysis: The results of the ongoing CHP investigation will be crucial. If evidence such as mechanical failure or road conditions play a role, other parties like vehicle manufacturers or state road agencies could be implicated. The family should consult with a personal injury attorney to explore these options as they navigate the aftermath of this awful accident.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the victims in this tragic accident. I wish the surviving children a swift recovery and hope that the family receives the support they need during this difficult time. If you can, please contribute to their GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses.
