1 Dead, 3 Injured in Fresno County Crash After Stop Sign Violation

Fresno County, CA (May 16, 2025) – A collision in Fresno County left one person dead and three others injured Thursday evening after one of the drivers allegedly ran a stop sign, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Lincoln and South Marks avenues. CHP officials said a 34-year-old Fresno man driving a Ford ran a stop sign and collided with a Chevrolet that had the right of way. A passenger in the Ford, a 35-year-old woman from Mendota, was killed in the impact. The driver and another passenger were hospitalized with moderate injuries. The Chevrolet’s driver also sustained injuries but is expected to survive.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are continuing to investigate whether speed, distraction, or intoxication contributed to the crash. Running a stop sign is a significant traffic violation and may lead to criminal charges, particularly when a fatality is involved. Investigators are expected to review surveillance footage and witness accounts to determine liability.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim and wish a full recovery to all those injured.
