Fresno County, CA (August 25, 2025) – A 45-year-old Sanger man, Diego Gutierrez Mogollan, was killed Monday in a collision with a big rig in Fresno County.
Accident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at the intersection of Temperance and North avenues. A Freightliner semi-truck was traveling eastbound on North Avenue as a Hyundai Accent, driven by Gutierrez Mogollan, was traveling westbound. When Gutierrez Mogollan attempted to make a left turn at Temperance Avenue, his vehicle was struck by the oncoming big rig. The impact pushed the Hyundai into a nearby orchard.
Emergency responders confirmed that Gutierrez Mogollan died at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Investigation: CHP is investigating the cause of the crash. The review will examine right-of-way issues, driver actions, and roadway safety at the uncontrolled intersection.
