St. Lucie County, FL (August 12, 2025) – Three South Florida residents lost their lives earlier this month when a semi-truck made an illegal U-turn on Florida’s Turnpike, causing a deadly collision in St. Lucie County.
Accident Details: According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a semi-truck made an illegal U-turn in a section of the Turnpike marked “official use only.” The truck struck a minivan carrying the three victims. The victims have been identified as Herby Dufresne, Faniola Joseph, 37, of Pompano Beach, and Rodrigue Dor, of Miami and Florida City. All three were killed in the crash.
Investigation: The semi-truck driver, identified as Harjinder Singh, was arrested in California and later extradited to Florida to face charges. Authorities report that Singh entered the U.S. illegally in 2018 and obtained a commercial driver’s license in California. The investigation will continue to focus on the circumstances leading up to the crash, including the truck driver’s actions and compliance with traffic laws.
