Jefferson County, AL (April 2, 2025) – One person was critically injured early Wednesday morning in a fiery crash on Highway 79 (Pinson Valley Parkway) near Goodrich Drive, located between Tarrant and Pinson.
Incident Details: The collision occurred around 1:15 a.m. and involved a passenger truck and a regional delivery tractor-trailer, both of which caught fire following the impact. Emergency crews from the Center Point Fire District treated two individuals at the scene, one of whom was transported to the UAB Trauma Center in critical condition. The road was closed in both directions for several hours before reopening later in the morning.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. Authorities will likely examine factors such as speed, driver fatigue, visibility conditions, and whether proper maintenance was performed on both vehicles. In crashes involving fire and severe injuries, investigators also look closely at the design and crashworthiness of the vehicles involved and whether any manufacturing defects contributed to the injuries sustained.
