Wayne County, NC (July 22, 2025) – A man died Tuesday afternoon after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer in Wayne County, shutting down part of U.S. 117.
Accident Details: According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on U.S. 117 near Country Club Road. Investigators say a Nissan SUV entered the path of a tractor-trailer, resulting in a violent collision. The Nissan’s driver died at the scene.
The truck driver was not injured.
