Claremont, CA (July 7, 2025) – A man identified as Faridun Abduvakhobov was struck and killed early Monday morning after exiting a disabled vehicle on the 210 Freeway in Claremont and being hit by a big rig, officials confirmed.
Accident Details: The fatal crash occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, on the eastbound side of the 210 Freeway near Baseline Road. Authorities say Abduvakhobov had exited a disabled vehicle when he was hit by an oncoming semi-truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Others in the disabled vehicle were not reported injured.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating whether the truck driver had sufficient time and space to avoid the collision. In crashes involving pedestrians outside disabled vehicles, liability may rest with the commercial driver if negligence or failure to observe roadway hazards is found. The family of Faridun Abduvakhobov may have grounds for a wrongful death claim depending on the investigation’s outcome.
