York, ME (June 11, 2025) – A collision triggered by a deer on the Maine Turnpike in York led to a three-vehicle pile-up Tuesday evening.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 7 p.m. near mile marker 13 when a red Mitsubishi Mirage struck a deer and came to a stop in the center lane. The driver safely exited the vehicle, but shortly after, a commercial fuel truck collided with the disabled Mitsubishi, pushing it into the median. The impact caused the truck to strike a BMW crossover, sending both vehicles off the road.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities report that only minor injuries were sustained in the crash. The deer did not survive. Agencies involved in the emergency response included Maine State Police, the Wells Fire Department, York Police Department, Maine Turnpike Authority, and commercial vehicle enforcement teams.
