Stanislaus County, CA (May 1, 2025) – A tragic head-on crash on Highway 132 west of Modesto claimed the lives of both drivers early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Incident Details: Officers responded around 3 a.m. to the intersection of Highway 132 and Hart Road, where they discovered two sedans with severe damage. Investigators say a white sedan was traveling westbound and for unknown reasons veered into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a black sedan. The white vehicle came to rest on the north shoulder, while the black vehicle landed along the south shoulder. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The CHP has not confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, including whether fatigue, distraction, or a medical emergency contributed to the westbound vehicle’s lane departure.
Our hearts go out to the families of the victims during this incredibly difficult time.
