FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 13, 2025) – Two drivers were killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 145, just south of Avenue 11, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 3:17 a.m. and involved a red Jeep Cherokee and a white Subaru Crosstrek. Authorities say the Jeep, driven by a 49-year-old woman from Fresno, was traveling southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with the Subaru, which was driven by a 25-year-old man from North Fork.
The collision caused severe damage to both vehicles. A white Isuzu NPR truck, driven by a 41-year-old man from Kerman, was traveling northbound and crashed into the wreckage because the vehicles remained in the roadway. The Isuzu driver was not injured.
Despite life-saving efforts, both drivers involved in the head-on collision were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman in the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities have not confirmed whether alcohol or other factors contributed to the collision.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. In head-on collisions, investigators typically review factors such as lane departures, vehicle speed, potential impairment, and mechanical conditions. When one driver crosses into oncoming traffic, liability is often a central issue in both criminal and civil cases.
