Woodstock, IL (March 27, 2025) – A man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when his sedan was struck by a semi-truck in a T-bone collision at a busy intersection in Woodstock, according to emergency officials.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 12:03 p.m. as the male driver of a sedan was traveling through the intersection of Route 120 and North Queen Anne Road. A semi-truck hauling machinery struck the sedan in a T-bone-style collision, leaving the driver trapped inside the vehicle.
Fire crews from the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District arrived within minutes and extricated the man in under 10 minutes. He was transported to a helipad at Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital and then airlifted to a Level 1 trauma center. The truck driver declined medical treatment at the scene, and the semi sustained only minor damage.
Legal Considerations: T-bone collisions often lead to questions about right-of-way, traffic signals, and visibility at intersections. Investigators will likely examine surveillance footage, witness statements, and physical evidence to determine which vehicle entered the intersection improperly or failed to yield.
If it’s determined that the truck driver caused the crash by failing to yield or disregarding traffic controls, the injured driver may have a legal claim for damages tied to medical care, recovery, and other losses stemming from the incident.
Ongoing Investigation: The Woodstock Police Department is actively investigating the collision. No citations or charges have been announced at this time. Officials have not released the identities of those involved.
I hope the injured driver receives the care he needs and makes a full recovery.
