Bakersfield, CA (May 14, 2025) – A fatal crash involving a semi-truck and SUV on Highway 119 claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman from Taft and left the truck driver with minor injuries.
Incident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday near Elk Hills, just east of Tupman Road. The woman, driving a 2014 Ford Explorer, reportedly veered into the oncoming lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a 2024 Kenworth semi-truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries.
