Sonoma County, CA (July 27, 2025) – A head-on collision Sunday evening in Sonoma County left one driver dead and another hospitalized with major injuries.
Accident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on Highway 121 near Duhig Road. A northbound Honda crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a southbound Ford pickup. The Honda driver died at the scene, and the pickup driver was taken to the hospital.
Highway 121 was shut down in both directions for several hours.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP is working to determine what caused the Honda to veer into oncoming traffic. Investigators will assess whether distraction, impairment, or speed played a role. Legal responsibility may be clearly established if lane departure is confirmed.
