Los Angeles, CA (April 15, 2025) – A 15-year-old boy, identified as Sebastian Carillo, was injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday in South Los Angeles, prompting a police search for the fleeing driver.
Incident Details: According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of East 43rd Place and Ascot Avenue. Carillo was walking when a red four-door sedan struck him and fled the scene without stopping to render aid. The teenager sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Surveillance footage captured the moment of impact, and authorities are using it to aid in the investigation.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: LAPD officers are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver responsible for the collision. Hit-and-run crashes can carry serious felony charges in California, particularly when injuries are involved. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to determine whether speed or driver impairment played a role.
Our thoughts are with Sebastian Carillo and his family as he recovers.
