Sacramento, CA (June 24, 2025) – Several people were injured Tuesday afternoon when a Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) light rail train collided with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of 6th and H Streets in downtown Sacramento.
Incident Details: The crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. when a light rail train traveling through downtown struck a sedan. The collision caused the vehicle to become lodged underneath the front of the train. Emergency responders from Sacramento Fire and Sacramento Police quickly arrived to assist those inside the car and onboard the train.
Officials confirmed that multiple people were injured in the crash, including at least one passenger who was transported to the hospital. The full number of injuries and the conditions of those involved have not been released at this time.
Traffic in the area was disrupted for hours as crews worked to stabilize the scene and assess structural and operational damage to the train.
